Privacy policy

Nevada Explorer is published by Voitto Virta LLC. This page explains what the site collects, who else receives data when you visit, and what you can turn off. Last updated September 28, 2026.

What we ask you for

Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no forms on this site. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your location. Road status, cameras and forecasts are the same for everyone and are not personalised. If you email us, we have your message and your address because you sent them; we use them to answer you and nothing else.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense. Google and its partners serve the ads you see and may set and read cookies in your browser to do it, including to show you ads based on your previous visits to this and other sites. That is Google's processing, not ours: we do not receive the data it collects, and we do not choose which ads you are shown.

You can turn personalised advertising off for your Google account at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalisation by many other vendors at optout.aboutads.info and Your Online Choices. Google explains its own handling in its partner sites policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and gives Google your IP address, from which it derives an approximate location; we see only aggregate reports, never a name or an address. It loads after you first scroll, tap or type, or after a few seconds, so it never slows down the road status you came for. Google's privacy policy covers what it does with that data, and its opt-out add-on stops it on every site you visit.

Hosting and security

The site is served from our own server, with Cloudflare in front of it for caching. Both keep ordinary server logs — the page requested, the time, the IP address it came from, the browser's user agent — which are used to serve the site, understand load and block abuse. Cloudflare may set a cookie of its own to tell visitors apart from bots. Logs are not used to build profiles and are not sold or shared.

Other sites your browser contacts

Camera images and live streams load straight from the agencies that run the cameras — Caltrans and Nevada DOT — so their servers see the request, as they would if you opened the camera on Caltrans or nvroads.com. The video player and the map code come from cdnjs, a public code library run by Cloudflare, and map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. None of them sets a tracking cookie from this site, and there is no social widget, comment system or tracking pixel anywhere on it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your choices

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent message appears on your first visit and asks whether advertising and analytics cookies may be used. Nothing is set until you answer, and declining stops both. You can change your answer at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

Your browser can block or delete cookies, including the advertising and analytics cookies described above; road status, cameras and forecasts all work without them. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you and to have it deleted. We hold no account data to return, but if you believe we hold something of yours, write to us and we will answer.

Changes

When the ad network, the analytics or the third parties above change, this page changes with them and the date at the top moves.
