Ski resort webcams provide visual confirmation of mountain conditions, but travel to these locations depends on highway status. Before relying on resort cameras, verify that your route is open.
Northstar California Resort
Located on Mt. Pluto, Northstar California Resort focuses on beginner terrain, with 73% of the mountain rated for beginner or intermediate skiers. The Big Easy learning area, located near the base, features a quad chair and surface lifts.
Travelers planning a visit can use the Epic Day Pass for lift access and discounts on rentals and lessons. For those driving from Reno or Truckee, check SR-267 road conditions before departure, as this is the primary access route.
Sugar Bowl Ski Resort
Sugar Bowl is located at 629 Sugar Bowl Rd, Norden, CA 95724, with direct access from I-80. Drivers should monitor I-80 road conditions for chain controls or closures near Donner Summit.
The resort hosts annual events, including a Poker Run on January 12, 2025, and a Banked Slalom event on January 26, 2025. These events utilize the Judah Lodge area.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort
Diamond Peak is located in Incline Village, accessible via SR-431 Mt Rose road conditions.
The resort previously held STOKE Certified status for sustainability, which was evaluated during the 2017/18 season. As of the September 1, 2023 update, Diamond Peak has not renewed this certification for the 2023-24 ski season.
On March 29, 2025, a fatal accident occurred at the resort. At approximately 3:38 p.m., emergency services were called to a non-skiing incident where a child was struck by a dislodged rock while climbing on a natural slope adjacent to the Base Lodge. The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
