Reno: Military Road Capacity and Safety Project

The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) and Spanish Springs Construction began the Military Road Capacity and Safety Project on June 15, 2026. This $35 million investment widens Military Road from two lanes to four between Lemmon Drive and Lear Boulevard.

During construction, which is expected to be completed in fall 2027, crews will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction. Drivers can expect 24/7 lane shifts:

Regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

El Dorado County: Mosquito Road Bridge Project

The Mosquito Road Bridge Project includes traffic impacts on Mosquito Road through August 8, 2026. This work involves road closures and flagging. Travelers in the area should plan for delays. For regional mountain driving, check SR-431 Mt Rose road conditions if planning to detour through higher elevations.
