What this camera shows
This camera sits at an elevation of 5,037 feet, placing it between the lower 2nd Street offramp camera at 4,448 feet and the Anderson Hill camera at 5,383 feet. Because this is a live video stream rather than a still image, it provides immediate confirmation of traffic flow and surface conditions in real time. Drivers can use this feed to see how conditions transition between the lower valley floor and the higher, more exposed terrain of Anderson Hill.
Since this feed captures live movement, it is particularly useful for spotting sudden traffic slowdowns or incidents that might not be apparent from static cameras. If the lower elevation camera shows clear pavement while the higher Anderson Hill view shows accumulating snow, this stream helps identify exactly where the transition to winter conditions is occurring. Frequent checking is recommended, as visibility can shift rapidly along this open stretch of the corridor.
