The short answer: take a taxi. Fares from Harry Reid International to the Strip are flat by zone, $22.25 to $30.25 in 2026. Visit Las Vegas puts the ride at 10 to 15 minutes. By road, Terminal 1 is about 5 miles from Mandalay Bay, 7 from Bellagio and 9.5 from the STRAT.
The cheapest way is the $2 bus, which takes about 28 minutes to downtown and does not run on the Strip itself.
| Way | Where to catch it | Cost | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | T1 east side, doors 1–4; T3 Level Zero, door 52 | $22.25 / $26.25 / $30.25 by zone, plus fees | 10–15 min (Visit Las Vegas) |
| Uber or Lyft | T1 garage Level 2; T3 garage Level V | Set in the app | 10–15 min (Visit Las Vegas) |
| RTC Route 108 | T1 Level Zero, covered stop | $2 single ride | About 28 min to downtown |
| Vegas Loop | Level Zero in both terminals | Not published by the operator | Not published |
| Waymo or Zoox | In the app | Set in the app | Not published |

Taxi zones and what gets added
The Nevada Taxicab Authority sets three zones by cross street. Zone 1 runs from Sunset Road north to Tropicana Avenue, at $22.25. Zone 2 runs from Tropicana north to Flamingo Road, at $26.25. Zone 3 runs from Flamingo north to the STRAT, which the Authority still calls the Stratosphere, at $30.25.
The Authority also lists a $2.40 airport fee per pickup, a $3.00 card fee and a 3% excise tax "added to all rates and fees". We could not confirm whether the zone fares already include the airport fee.
A Tier 1 fuel surcharge of $1.00 per zone ride has applied since April 2026. If every charge lands on top, a card fare comes to about $29.50 in Zone 1 and $37.75 in Zone 3, by our arithmetic.
At Terminal 1, the stand is outside baggage claim on the east side, near doors 1 to 4. At Terminal 3, it is outside on Level Zero, near door 52. Every company takes cards, and the Authority answers on 702-668-4000.
Uber, Lyft and the robotaxis
Rideshare pickup is in the parking garages, not at the curb. At Terminal 1, ride up from baggage claim to Level 2 of the garage, walk across, and the pickup area is on the right. At Terminal 3, go up to Level 2, cross the bridge, and take the elevator to Level V. Drivers drop off at the departures curbs on the way back.
The airport says Waymo rides from LAS "are available to current Waymo riders in Las Vegas" and will open to more people over time. Zoox runs "autonomous rides between LAS and select Strip destinations". Neither publishes a fare on the airport's page.
The $2 bus and the Loop
RTC Route 108 leaves from Terminal 1, Level Zero: go down from baggage claim, cross the crosswalk and bear right to the covered stop. Terminal 3 riders take the free inter-terminal shuttle first, which runs every 20 to 30 minutes and takes about 10 minutes.
The bus runs east of the Strip, not on Las Vegas Boulevard. It stops at Tropicana, Flamingo, Desert Inn, the Sahara Monorail Station and the Bonneville Transit Center downtown. On weekdays it comes every 25 to 30 minutes, from about 4:19 a.m. to 1:35 a.m. northbound. A single ride is $2 and a 24-hour pass $5.
The Vegas Loop drops off at the departures curbs and picks up on Level Zero in both terminals, the airport says. Las Vegas Advisor reported in June 2026 that the airport ride runs only to LVCC Central station, partly on surface streets, for $12. The Boring Company's own fare was not available to us.
Who should not take a taxi
The Monorail does not reach the airport; its south end is MGM Grand. A Downtown stay is about 12 miles by road, so Route 108 to the Bonneville Transit Center saves the most money there. Anyone picking up a rental car takes the shuttle instead, covered in car rental at Las Vegas airport.
Once you are at the hotel, the Deuce and the Monorail cover the Strip, set out in Las Vegas without a car. The resorts in each taxi zone are on the Las Vegas Strip guide. If you have not picked a hotel yet, where to stay in Las Vegas sets the areas side by side, and the Las Vegas guide has the rest.
The airport, the South and Center Strip, and Downtown, where Route 108 ends.
