What this camera shows
At an elevation of 4,511 feet, this camera sits significantly lower than the Bowers Mansion highmast cameras located further south. Because this location is at a lower altitude, it often experiences different weather conditions than the higher, more exposed sections of the route. When the nearby higher-elevation cameras show accumulating snow or ice, this lower stretch may remain clear or merely wet, providing a valuable indicator of how far down the storm line has descended.
As a live video stream, this view provides immediate insight into traffic flow and road surface conditions that static images cannot offer.
