- Heavenly Mountain Resort: Beginners access Patsy's, a gentle green run, via the Tramway or Gunbarrel Express. Skiers ride the lift or tram back down to Cal Lodge rather than navigating intermediate return trails.
- Kirkwood Mountain Resort: The Timber Creek base area isolates learning traffic from higher-tier descents. Squirrel Ridge, accessed via the Timber Creek Express chairlift, offers a gentle winding gully through trees.
