What this camera shows

At an elevation of 4,142 feet, this camera sits well below the chain-control points at Mogul and the state line, which begin at 4,724 feet and 5,006 feet. Because this location is significantly lower than the mountain passes to the west, it often remains clear even when conditions deteriorate near East Verdi. Monitoring this feed helps determine if the road surface is dry as you approach the base of the grade, providing a reliable baseline for the start of the climb.
